Thankful Thursday's

Wow I'm running late today for my post. Spent my day in Franklin,Tn visiting my mom and dad. I had to go over there to sign up my 16yr old son to go back to Page High School, which he will move in with his grandparents. I didn't think he would be moving out so soon, I thought it would be 2 more years before college. He wants to go into animation, art and filming and Page High School has Honor Classes for what he wants to go into.

Ricky and his friends from UP.

Here's 2 of the quilts that were made for him over the years.
This Train Quilt was made by his Nanny. He was 4 yrs old at the time.

She even put his name on it.

Then this one was done for him last year. He loves music.

He loves it. This is his favorite.

His younger brother already has plains for his bedroom. Which Ricky will be home on weekends   so there's no room changing yet.

So now you know what I am Thankful for this Thursday. They just grow up so fast.

To my children, I make mistakes being a mom, sometimes more than I would like to admit. But I will always be there for you, to hear you, to cheer you, to laugh or cry with you, to protect you with my life and to love you for eternity with all my heart! No one will ever love you more than I do, I'm your MOM!

Thankful Thursday's

It's been a busy week and I wish I could say it was because I was SEWING!! But sadly to say it was not. I have start on a new quilt this week.Never worked with plaid, so it took me awhile to figure out what I was going to do with it.
It is still in strips, I still have to sew it.
You can see I didn't get to far with this quilt, but it is on the quilting frame! My boys had Lego's all over my kitchen table this week, that's where I lay my quilts out and roll them up to go on the quilting frames.
I finally had them put their table together for their Lego's, this is only 1/8 of what they have. They love Lego's, I told they the perfect job for them is to get a job at Lego Land at Disney. If you have ever never been there this is what you would see.
Out side they have huge statues of Snow White, Woody from Toy Story ect.....

Ok but back to quilting!! I have been going into different quilting blog's all this week (when my computer was working) and I have seen some beautiful quilts in every blog I have gone into!!!! You know the show America has Talent, that's what I have seen in these quilting blog's that I have looked at this week. It is just overwhelming and everyone has a different look for a quilt. The blocks might be the same but that person has put their on mark on that quilt that makes it so different. Also I can sit in my home and go to Australia, Norway, California, Idaho, Texas, North Carolina, New York and the list goes on. I can see the beautiful quilts, blocks, crafts that are being made, Oh lets not forget the AMAZING FABRIC that is out there. I just feel so blessed to be included in this talent of sewing. Thanks to my mom and her cousin Margie for teaching me how to take a piece of fabric and making it into something beautiful.

Thankful Thursday's

Well it's here again. Thankful Thursday's!!! Been busy this week teaching little girls at our church a class in sewing. It was so much fun. I think I liked it more then some of the little girls did. Cathy, Cindy, Cindy's mom and I had 4 girls each to teach. We made 4 beautiful jellyroll quilts that Sarah Craig will take and quilt them for the church ministry. Spent the day having the girls sew these little mug rugs to take home with them. You can see the girls mug rugs and quilts they did on Sarah Criag's blog,  http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/

Thankful Thursday's

Well it has been a busy week. By looking at every one's blog this week it seems like the 4th went off without a hitch. Let me tell you what I have been up to.

     1) Finished a Flimsy

               Little girls Butterfly Quilt

2) Finished up a Home warming Quilt for a friend. And its has a new home.

                              Back

3) I rearranged my sewing room for this!!!

My Dad made this for ME!!! And he also made on for my mom, of course its a lot larger.
Mom's sewing room was the garage of their home.

4) Mom and I were going through some sewing stuff but back and just look at what we found!
My moms grandmother did this quilts
Look at the hand sewn quilt

We found them wrapped up in a cloth
                        January 21,  1934
This is news paper that she used to make pattern backing

She even pinned the pattern on the blocks that they would use.

                  Appliqued  Butterfly
The pattern is pinned on the back.
Flimsy top's all I need to do is Hand Quilt

                    All hand sewn.
We were like two kids in a candy store when we found these. Mom didn't remember even having these.
Now you know how my week went. Please post comments on how your week went!
